Black Heart Burlesques - Suicide Girls
For years, I have been a fan of Suicide Girls ever since they came out back in the early to mid 2000's. So, this year I learned that they were doing a burlesque tour. That they had it before but haven't done it in almost ten years. Knowing that my Saturday evening was free I just had to take up that opportunity. I refuse to miss it.
Before this I have been to a burlesque show, a year before the Suicide Girls revamped their show. The show I seen was performed by the ladies of the International Black Burlesque Performers (IBBP). https://www.facebook.com/IBBPcommunity
The ladies of the IBBP displayed the history of Detroit during the Black Bottom era. In the 1960's, the Black Bottom was an area of Detroit that was know for it musical prowess. Their show brought that historic moment to life for all to take in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Bottom,_Detroit
The Suicide Girls Black Heart Burlesque show is completely different. It was held in St. Andrew's in Detroit, MI. Their show uses pop-culture references as the base. The references range from movies such as Dannie Darko, Star Wars, The Big Lebowski. Comic references from DC comic and Marvel comic were used. Also, shows like Adventure Time and Little Mermaid.
The show was very sexy and sensual. Every performance drew you in and kept you enticed. When it ended you wanted more, you never want to see it end. The show was hosted by Sunnie who kept the crowd involved, and did an excellent job at it. All the ladies were sexy and very beautiful, they all did a great job with all of their skits they perform.
Freaky Ariel - Little Mermaid
The show ender was the highly anticipated Star Wars closer. As those who have already seen it, can tell anyone that it is one not to be missed. If you were to miss it you will be beating yourself up in the end. For those who have never been to a burlesque show this is absolutely a must see show for any first time or experienced person. You will not regret it!!!
