Hefty Fine!!
So close to having nothing ever again in life....
I was asked to do a video shot for a fellow coworker from work. Of course, I agree and there was a lot of planning, which I didn't even have to do. Winning!!! In the weeks to come ideas were formulated and executed.
The day of the video shoot is coming closer. A week before Ebbi asked me to rent the Jeep for her because something about her license. She gave me the money and I got it done. Few days later CJ and I went scouting locations for the video. For the Jeep scene we chose Dockweiler Beach.
Fast forward and the day is here and everyone arrives on time. We moved the Jeep on the beach. Were able to get about a hour of shooting before the first wave of security popped up. He told us because we were operating without a permit for the shoot that we could be cited with a $10,000 fine. We said "WHAT!!!". With that note in mind we finished as quickly as we possibly can. As we were wrapping the final shots, the second patrol truck cam and he wasn't as nice as the first one. He was very stern with a quick decision we called it on the beach and focused a little more on the driving scenes. A few more shoots to be say and we were all set. That's what we believed til our video director locked his keys in the trunk of his car that was another 45-60 minutes trying to "CBP" his car to get into the trunk.
On to the Next Adventure
A few days later we went to the studio to start filming the last part of this video for Ebbi. As this on mainly focus on here creativity in the studio setting. There were outfit changes to create a dynamic feel. Also, incorporated in the video was CJ and Dark Kent her producer.
Video coming soon.....
Return of Acapella
Last year Acapella decided to take a step back from performing and focus more on further developing his craft. In doing so he pushes his abilities pass what they were capable of before. By taking time away from the stage, Acapella has been able to focus more on the music aspect of performing.
Unlike many "artist" in Detroit Acapella separates himself from the rest. He isn't in the category of being a rapper, but more of an hip-hop artist. The music he produces isn't just one note. Much of his music are pieces of his inner being. He brings you into his world, more about fact rather than fiction. What really separate him even more in his music is the layers puts into his music.
This year when he returned to the stage, he really thought about his performance and how it will flow. Instead of just performing song after song under a set time limit, he changed it up this time. He performed as he's giving a show. He gave snippets of his best songs with a verse and chorus then flows right into next, only to finish with most recent single "U've Changed". With all the hard work Acapella puts into his work and craft, I can see him making waves in the city and other states. The main obstacle that he must cross is the un-supportiveness that this city shows to those who produce quality music with those who produce below average music.

U've Changed
Since the beginning of the year, I have been working with Tristan a.k.a Acapella on his newest project One Shot Kill (O.S.K.). Before the new year we did a few promotional shots to promote the album. Few weeks ago we shot some of the first footage for his first video of the year "U've Changed". Concept is kept under wraps for right now, but the locale used was with out neighbors across the river. The first day we got plenty of footage, but later that night is where everything fell apart. Due to the below freezing temperatures, the footage looks rushed. It was good but the performance of everything was not what we was looking for, so this Friday we are heading back over so re-shoot everything as far as the performance and to add more b-reel footage.
In the meantime take a listen to Acapella's new single "U've Changed" down below.
***Update 2/8/15***
Today, I decided to release the video for "U've Changed" on to my personal Youtube page. Even though there was a lot of trial and errors in the making of this. It was the final decision to scrape this whole project and re-shoot at at later date to make sure everything was clean and polished. I can easily understand as an perfectionist to a lot of project I have taken on in the past. When things aren't going right it's best to start again from the very beginning. So be looking forward for a better version in the months to come.
Today is Acapella's Birthday as well.
“There are things which nobody would see unless I photographed them.”
“I see little of more importance to the future of our country and of civilization than full recognition of the place of the artist. If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.”
