U've Changed
Since the beginning of the year, I have been working with Tristan a.k.a Acapella on his newest project One Shot Kill (O.S.K.). Before the new year we did a few promotional shots to promote the album. Few weeks ago we shot some of the first footage for his first video of the year "U've Changed". Concept is kept under wraps for right now, but the locale used was with out neighbors across the river. The first day we got plenty of footage, but later that night is where everything fell apart. Due to the below freezing temperatures, the footage looks rushed. It was good but the performance of everything was not what we was looking for, so this Friday we are heading back over so re-shoot everything as far as the performance and to add more b-reel footage.

***Update 2/8/15***
Today, I decided to release the video for "U've Changed" on to my personal Youtube page. Even though there was a lot of trial and errors in the making of this. It was the final decision to scrape this whole project and re-shoot at at later date to make sure everything was clean and polished. I can easily understand as an perfectionist to a lot of project I have taken on in the past. When things aren't going right it's best to start again from the very beginning. So be looking forward for a better version in the months to come.
Today is Acapella's Birthday as well.
Ray Smooth
Last month I was hired to shoot and film a comedy show for a comedian named Ray Smooth. He was giving a private show to family and friends. Before he took to the stage, two of his friends took center stage. One was also a comedian (she was quite funny), and the other was a poet.
When Ray took center stage, his show went off without a hitch. During the show he had one heckler but he quickly went in on that person. Throughout the entire show he had everyone laughing the whole time. To see what was filmed just press play down below.
As this was my first time actual time filming and event there was one little hiccup that I came across. Since I was unable to do both, I brought my brother with me to give me a helping hand. Since he didn't know how to work the camera the first 15 minutes were extremely blown out. It was no way to fix the footage. That was a mistake on my part, I didn't take in account the brightness of the light and also believing the settings I had it on would adjust accordingly. I was wrong!!! I know now just to shoot in manual and take full control of all settings.
New Year's Eve - Las Vegas
For New Year Eve, buddies of mine from work decided to do a last minute day trip to Las Vegas for the New Year. Monday everything was planned out, and Wednesday we were on a plane heading to Vegas. When we arrived, I admit we were a little lost walking through the airport. Have a few turn-abouts and we finally made our way to the infamous Las Vegas strip. Knowing it was the holiday we knew it was going to be pack.
Throughout the day we got into tourist mode. We walked the strip in it's entirety. The whole time there we winged the whole day, no plans were ever made til that moment. To bypass all the boring tourist activities, the nightlife is of course is when Vegas truly comes alive.
At around 9:00pm the strip is shut down. Meaning no cars are allowed and people are allowed to wonder on the streets with no problem. Even though this was Vegas, the weather was just a tad bit warmer than it was back home. So a few hundred people who weren't use to the cold was complaining about it being cold. While there was a few who embrace it as if it was nothing. There were parties everywhere you went. Some parties were charging $150 a head so those were completely out of the question.
As time came closer to midnight everyone (who wasn't stuck on a table or slot) came out. At the stroke of midnight a ten minute fireworks display went off along the strip so everyone was able to see them no matter where they were at on and off. In the end it was one of the best moments to be able to do something like that in my life.
After the show we went back to MGM to kill some time before our ride came to take us back to the airport for the 6 o'clock flight home. For the second time ever I was able to get first class heading back home. What that meant to me was that I was able to sleep with no problems but not before getting a picture of the snow cap mountains and have breakfast.
